It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Steven Bradley Mattingly, age 71, who left us on March 15, 2026, at his home in Clarkson, Kentucky. Born on August 21, 1954, in Jefferson County, he was the beloved son of the late Charles and Minnie Opal King Mattingly.
Steve was a dedicated carpenter, known for his steady hands and keen eye for detail. He spent much of his time working with wood and tinkering with mowers and small motors, a hobby that brought him joy and taught many of us the value of hard work and creativity. Above all, Steve cherished his family, and those relationships were the true foundation of his life.
He leaves behind two loving sons, Larry and Paul Mattingly, who will carry his spirit forward. Steve was also a proud grandfather to five grandchildren: Destiny, Haley, Rachael, Elizabeth, and Sebastian, and he was a doting great-grandfather to Jeremiah, Olivia, and Willow. He is survived by his siblings, Tommy, Gloria, Danny, Harold, and Ralph Mattingly, who will remember him with fondness and laughter. He was preceded in death by three siblings, Linda Haydon, Ronnie Mattingly, and Sharon Mattingly, who welcomed him with open arms.
In honor of Steve's wishes, cremation will take place.
