Scott Allen Spence

Scott Allen Spence, age 67, of Leitchfield, Kentucky, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, April 17, 2026. He was born on August 11, 1958, in Mankato, Minnesota, the loving son of Mary Ellen Hill Bates, who remains with us, and the late Joy Eugene Spence.

Scott was a cherished husband to his beloved wife of 41 years, Debra Cook Spence, and a proud father to their daughter, Amanda Noelle Spence. He leaves behind his sister, Debbe Strege, and his brothers, Dan (Carrie) and Shawn Spence. He is also fondly remembered by many family members who were touched by his kindness and warm spirit. Scott was preceded in death by his sister, Dawn Spence, who he holds dear in his heart.

A simple man at heart, Scott enjoyed the little pleasures in life. He was a devoted sports fan, often found cheering on his favorite football and hockey teams, and he carried the spirit of competition with him from his younger days, when he played football and rugby and hit the slopes to ski. Scott had a special affinity for collecting Navy memorabilia, reflecting his love for history and service.

In honoring his wishes, Scott will be cremated.

Scott will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew him.
