It's with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gerald David Milliner, Sr., a cherished member of our community, who left us peacefully on January 29, 2026, at the age of 77. Born on August 21, 1948, in Leitchfield, KY, Gerald was the beloved son of Michael E. and Mary Catherine Casey Milliner. He spent his life in the same town that he loved, where he became known for his warmth, hard work, and dedication to his family.
After a fulfilling 35-year career at Gates Rubber Company, Gerald proudly embraced retirement, returning to his roots on the family farm. There, he could often be found tending to his cattle and enjoying the simple joys of rural life. His commitment to his work and family always stood out, and he was a firm believer in the value of hard work and devotion. Gerald was also a dedicated member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, where he found comfort and community.
Gerald leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Elaine Milliner, who was by his side through every triumph and challenge. He is also survived by his daughter, Maryla Renae Dyer (Tom); his son, Gerald David Milliner, Jr.; two grandchildren, Kalynn O'Connell (Jared) and Brett Allgood (Shelby); and five great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life: Kataleana Vincent, Haskel Vincent, Jayde O'Connell, Jr. O'Connell, and Cameron Allgood. He is missed by his five sisters, Norma Witten, Anna Frank (Floyd), Linda Stogner (Dan), Glenda Miller (Kenny), and Mary Jane Crawford (Jan).
Gerald was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rodney Wayne Milliner; his sisters, Irene Pierce and Brenda Cripps; and his brother, Michael Milliner. Each of them held a special place in his heart.
To celebrate Gerald's life, a Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, with Fr. Gary Dale Clark officiating. Friends and family can gather to honor his memory during visitation hours at Leitchfield Funeral Home from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, and again from 9:00 AM until just before the service on Thursday. We encourage everyone to join us for a prayer service at 6:00 PM on Wednesday evening, led by Deacon Dale DePoyster.
Following the Mass, Gerald will be laid to rest in St. Francis Cemetery, where he will continue to watch over his loved ones with that gentle spirit of his.
We invite you to share your thoughts and fond memories of Gerald online at www.leitchfieldfh.com. His kindness and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
