Darrell Wayne Decker

Darrell Wayne Decker, a beloved father, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in Leitchfield, Kentucky, on May 25, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on March 1, 1960, in Louisville, he was the cherished son of the late Vollie "Buck" and Ruby Mae Wood Decker.

Darrell was known for his big heart and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His family was the center of his universe, and he delighted in every moment spent with them. Whether you found him fishing by the water, tending to his garden, or eagerly listening to his scanner, Darrell embraced life with a joyful spirit. He also had a penchant for taking chances, often found enjoying a good game of gambling.

Darrell is survived by his loving children, Shannon Neff (Joey), Aaron Decker, and Beckie Hearn (Isaac), who will carry his memory forward alongside his two adoring grandchildren, Dakota Neff and Izzy Decker. He is also survived by his siblings, Kenny Day, Mary Jo Howard, and Farrell Decker, all of whom will miss him dearly. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Scott, who will greet him with open arms.

In honoring Darrell's life, a funeral service will take place at 12:00 PM on Friday, May 29, 2026, at Leitchfield Funeral Home, with Bro. Charlie Smith and Bro. Eddie Cockrell leading the ceremony. Friends and family are invited to share their love and memories during the visitation, which will be held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, and again from 9:00 AM until the service on Friday. Darrell will be laid to rest in Anneta Cemetery, where he will continue to be remembered by all who knew him.
