It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Carol Jean Logsdon, who peacefully left us on September 7, 2025, at the age of 63. Born on December 28, 1961, in Blowtown, Kentucky, Carol was a beacon of warmth and kindness, touched the lives of everyone she encountered.
Carol was a devoted wife to Rickey Logsdon, with whom she shared a beautiful bond built upon love, laughter, and unwavering support. Their life together in Leitchfield, Kentucky, was filled with cherished moments that highlighted her nurturing spirit, and her devotion to family was central to her existence.
As a loving mother and grandmother, Carol found joy in her children: Beverly Forbes (Jeremy), Brandon Newton (Brandy), Becky Cooper (Jason), Shahaley Sanders (Kent), who each carry forward her legacy of compassion and strength. She also welcomed her grandchildren - Randy Newton (Tamara), Ashley Decker (Jeremy), Allen Hash, Dylan Mercer, Devan Hash, Alissia Cooper, Mackenzie Cooper, and 12 great-grandchildren who will forever reflect her teachings of love and kindness. Carol was deeply loved by her siblings; Kendall Decker, Glendall "Toby" Decker (Angie), Sandra Glenn (Stephen) and Mary Robinson (Bruce). She leaves behind a loving family that includes her beloved mother-in-law, Shirley Logsdon. Carol's gentle spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of those she held dear.
Preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Elaine King Decker; her son Brian Thomas Newton; her first husband Ralph Newton; her sister-in-law, Tammy Decker; her father-in-law Hershell Logsdon; brother Wendell Decker; and son-in-law Lester Hash, Carol's path was shaped by both love and loss, adding depth to her compassionate nature.
Carol was entrusted with the gift of friendship; she was always ready with a listening ear, a kind word, and a helping hand, sowing seeds of love in her community. A faithful member of Decker Holiness Church, she embodied the values of faith and generosity, making lasting impressions on the many lives she touched.
In reflection of her remarkable life, funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at McGrew Church. The family invites friends and loved ones for visitation starting at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, until the time of the service on Thursday . We encourage all who knew Carol to join us in celebrating not just her life but the beautiful legacy she leaves behind-a legacy steeped in love and remembrance. Burial will follow at the Bill Newton Cemetery,
As we gather to honor Carol's memory, we find solace in the knowledge that though she may have departed from this world, her spirit will forever live on in our hearts. May she rest in peace, wrapped in the love she so generously shared with others.Condolences can be left at www.leitchfieldfh.com.
