Bro. Hubert Harold Riggs, age 84, and Janice Faye Fields Riggs, age 83, passed away peacefully together at their home surrounded by family on April 9, 2026, just one hour and fourteen minutes apart.
Hubert was born May 19, 1941, the son of Bro. Owen and Viola Miles Riggs.
Janice was born April 10, 1942, the daughter of Clyde and Pauline Caswell Fields.
Hubert was saved at Lone Oak at the age of 29 and was ordained to preach in 1978. Janice was saved as a 15 year old girl at a tent revival in Louisville. They were both members of Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
Hubert was preceded in death by his parents, Bro. Owen and Viola Riggs, and two brothers, Gerald Riggs and Otis Carrolton Riggs.
Janice was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Pauline Fields, one sister, Melva Copelin, three brothers: Bro. Sonny Fields, Bro. Carlon Fields, and Ronnie Fields.
They were also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Bro. David Logsdon.
They are survived by four children: Jackie (Mark) Williams of Upton, Kimberly Logsdon of Munfordville, Paul (Sara) Riggs of Clarkson, and Jonathan (Cathy) Riggs of Clarkson. Also sixteen grandchildren: Leah (Daniel) White, Jessamyn (Daniel) Hawkins, Casey (Elaney) Logsdon, Adam (Samantha) Williams, Martha (Christopher) Thompson, Katelyn (Alex) Riggs, Trent (Maria) Riggs, Beth (Ian) Stewart, Laurel (Brandon) Ervin, Jacob (Jaylin) Riggs, Janie Williams, Leanne (Riley) Shartzer, T. J. Riggs, Lila Riggs, Luke Riggs, and Layna Riggs. They are also survived by 21 great-grandchildren: Molly, Daylon, and Ava White; Emily, Madelyn, and Katie Hawkins; Addie, Caylie, Hannah, Lindsey, and Etta Logsdon; Kloey, Kinley, and Sadie Riggs; Paige, Ashtyn, Brady, and Shay Riggs; Ellie Stewart, and Emma and Carson Ervin.
Hubert is survived by one brother, Dorsey Riggs, and four sisters: Violet Priddy, Helen Druen, Sue Decker, and Gloria Priddy.
Janice is survived by two sisters, Norvella Copelin and Rita Riggs, and a brother, Wendell Fields.
A combined funeral service honoring the lives of Bro. Hubert and Janice will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church, where family and friends will come together to celebrate their lives. Prior to the service, the family will receive friends on Saturday, April 11, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM CST, and on Sunday, April 12, from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM CST at Leitchfield Funeral Home. For those wishing to pay their respects, the visitation will continue on Monday, April 13, starting at 9:00 AM CST until the time of service at Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church.
Bro. Hubert and Janice will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, where their loving presence will continue to be felt by all who knew them. Their vibrant spirit and deep compassion will forever remain in the hearts of their family and friends.
