Robert "Bobby" Haydon went home to be with the Lord on January 19, 2022. Robert and his fraternal twin Richard were born to Milford White and Katherine Frances Haydon on October 5, 1951 in Louisville, Kentucky. Robert grew up in Old Louisville on Floyd Street in the same house his father had grown up in. He was a Roman Catholic, accepting his first communion at St. Paul's Catholic church where he served as an alter boy. Robert was preceeded in death by his parents, his wife Linda Katherine, brothers Charles, James, and Richard, granddaughter Christina Rose, niece Yvette Leitner, and his ex-wife Charmaine Wilson. He is survived by his children Melissa Sharp (Jimmy), Tess Baker (Dan), Vanessa Cox (Kim), Martina Jones (Steve), Lura Coffey (Darrell), Cathy Ray, William Clemons, Jr. (Sue), and his sister Theresa Haydon, as well as nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, with another great grandchild due in six weeks. He was loved by many people. Robert graduated from Ahren's Trade School in 1969. He was retired from the Army Reserves with whom he served 26 years. In addition to his military service, Robert worked hard at a number of jobs over the years to provide for his family. Some of his places of employment included Summit Polymers, Romac, and Shell gas station. Robert had also installed satellites and delivered pizzas for a period of time. He had retired from Schierech's Cabinetry when they closed their doors. It was at Schierich's where Robert met his second wife, Linda. They built a life together raising children and then when those children were grown, began welcoming grandchildren. They originally lived in Shepherdsville. They later bought a home in Leitchfield several years ago to be closer to part of their family. He had just recently moved back to Louisville to be nearer to his daughter Missy. Robert enjoyed fishkeeping as he had several aquariums over the years. He also enjoyed fishing, taking his daughters fishing when they were young. Robert was an avid reader who also liked to work puzzles and collect coins. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. CST, Wednesday (Jan. 26) at the Watson & Hunt Funeral Home in Leitchfield. He will be laid to rest in the Eveleigh Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. CST on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. until service time on Wednesday at the funeral home.
